Our goal and ambition are to establish a market leading extraction facility supported by world class glasshouse production to produce a unique range of ingestible and topical consumer products, based on natural plant-based compounds.
The Role
As Product Development Technician you will be assisting on the development of novel extraction and purification techniques required for a wide range of botanical extracts and will work closely with the commercial and innovation teams developing new functional ingredients, formulations and processes. The Product Development Technician will work within the Technical Department and will be based in Spalding, Lincolnshire.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
As part of this role assist in the development of an innovative range of products from laboratory through to marketplace using plant-based compounds manufactured using CO2 extraction techniques.
As the business expands assist on the scale-up of all stages of biomass handling from harvest through to end-product manufacturing.
Support the team in the development of Standard Operating Procedures for processes and procedures to meet the requirements of the Quality Management System.
Responsible for checking stock of consumables and ensure orders are placed as required.
Able to maintain good laboratory housekeeping whilst working in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Education, Experience & Attributes required
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry/Chemical engineering. Other STEM subjects may be considered.
Someone who has a passion for natural products and product development.
Honest, friendly, approachable and good team member.
Good Level of IT literacy including Microsoft Office packages and databases
Resourceful and entrepreneurial with problem-solving skills.
Proactive with a ‘can do’ attitude.
Excellent time management, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Meticulous attention to detail.
It would be advantageous to have some laboratory experience and exposure or knowledge of CO2 extraction.
